Thailand successfully won 2 gold medals in volleyball, Indonesia 2 silver medals, Singapore 2 bronze medals

Unesa.ac.id. SURABAYA—The ASEAN University Games (AUG) volleyball final went down to the wire on Monday, July 1, 2024, in the Youth Arena Building, Faculty of Sports and Health Sciences (FIKK), Surabaya State University (UNESA) Lidah Wetan Campus.
The match brought together the Thai women's volleyball team and the Indonesian women's volleyball team. Under the command of coach Ounhaka Monchai, the women's team from the White Elephant Country successfully defeated Garuda Pertiwi with a landslide score of 3-0.
These results automatically led Parichat and her squad to win a gold medal on the podium.
Seeing his team finish in second place, coach Pedro B. Lilipaly, coach of the Indonesian women's national volleyball team, said that his team's game needed a lot of evaluation.
He emphasized these improvements on the physical aspect and blocks which were considered lacking, because his team often conceded goals in that line.

Nonetheless, he stated that his team had given their best effort. In truth, he was pleased because they had won a medal this year, albeit a silver one.
"Previously, we never qualified for the final, since Vietnam always beat us. "Fortunately, at this time, the Vietnamese and Filipino volleyball teams did not participate, so our possibility to win gold was more open," he stated.
The following match, the final, pitted the Indonesian men's volleyball team against the Thai men's volleyball squad. Buying and selling attacks and vying for tactical brilliance was a spectacle that elicited even greater shouts from the spectators.

In accordance with the women's volleyball team, the Thai men's volleyball team, led by coach Anuchate Dumdoungrom, dominated the first half and defeated coach Muhammad's squad 3-0.
