Judo Sports are Fierce, Indonesia and Malaysia Dominate the Game

SURABAYA-ASEAN
University Games (AUG) XXI 2024, Airlangga Convention Center (ACC) building
campus C of Airlangga University today, Wednesday (26/06/2024) became a
prestigious arena for Judo sports that competed 15 categories.
The
sport featured fierce and passionate competition from athletes competing in 15
categories with a total of 45 medals contested, consisting of gold, silver and
bronze medals.
Five
countries participated in judo this time, namely Malaysia, Singapore,
Indonesia, Thailand, and Cambodia, with a total of 43 participants.The matches
use a round robin system and two pools, creating an atmosphere of fair and
challenging competition.
In
the Men's 60 kg category, Darmawan Tommy from Indonesia won the gold medal with
a brilliant performance. Malaysia's Muhammad Fareez Mohameid had to settle for
a silver medal after showing his best effort in the final.
Meanwhile,
the bronze medal went to Bryan Tze Haeng Lee from Singapore who managed to show
his best ability in the midst of intense competition.
In
the men's 66 kg category, Indonesia again showed its dominance with Abdillah
Bustomi who won the gold medal. Yujie Zhou from Singapore won the silver medal,
showing that competition between countries is getting tougher and better
quality.
Winner Felix Panggabean from Indonesia was also not left behind, managing to take home the bronze medal.

For
the Women's 48 kg category, Meli Marta Rosita from Indonesia presented the
first gold medal in this category after defeating her opponents with brilliant
technique and strategy.
Vandeum
Keo of Cambodia won the silver medal, while Pimngam Ngamluam of Thailand took
home the bronze medal.
The
Women's 52 kg category saw a resounding victory from Nur Farah Izzati Wallah
from Malaysia who won the gold medal. Maryam March Maharini of Indonesia
secured second place with a silver medal, and Shu Wen Yeo of Singapore
completed the podium with a bronze medal.
All
the matches held today showed not only the high quality of technique and skill
of the athletes, but also an incredible fighting spirit and sportsmanship.
Athletes from every country compete with passion, upholding the values of fair
play and friendship.
The
presence and support of the audience and the fighting spirit of the athletes
are the keys to the success of the implementation of judo sports in AUG.
Hopefully this spirit will continue to be carried through to the next events,
making sports a unifying and inspiring means for all ASEAN communities.[]
