SURABAYA-Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines head-to-head in a fierce tennis match since June 26, 2004. After presenting the gold medal for his country, Sawasdee Watsachol, Thai tennis athletes expressed his comments related to the match. "We've tried our best for our country and finally we can take home the gold medal,” he said.
According to him, the achievements they obtained can add to the collection of medals for the Thai contingent. In addition, also as a motivation for his team to welcome the competition for international level competition in the future.
Besides that, Moh Gunawan Trismuwantara, a garuda Indonesia team athlete who won gold in mixed doubles, expressed a feeling of pride and pleasure to have brought Indonesia's name to the overall champion in tennis at the Asean University Games (AUG) 2024.

"This is my first time participating in the Asean University Games, Of course I am very proud to be able to bring the name of Indonesia," he said.
The achievement of the medal was memorable for him, because during the match his action on the field was witnessed by his beloved family who made him continue to be excited until he draped the medal he dreamed of.
The Athlete from Madura shared his experience in preparing for this Southeast Asian sports competition. For him, every sporting event always prepares to follow the existing tournament.
"My preparation in the face of AUG is to set a healthy lifestyle, take vitamins and adequate rest and exercise consistently," he explained.

In addition, Fitriana Sabrina, Gunawan's partner when competing in mixed doubles against Thailand presented her difficulties during the match.
"The weather in Surabaya was quite hot compared to Jakarta, the game was fast, the game was 3 to 4 times, it was draining and we were only given a break for 45 minutes,” he said.
