The last match of the day was between the Laos and Malaysia women's teams, where Malaysia came out on top with a score of 21-5. In the last match of the day, the Malaysian men's team defeated the Philippines men's team with a score of 17-21.
From the results of the matches, there was intense competition between teams from various ASEAN countries in 3x3 Basketball. The teams showed high dedication and fighting spirit in fighting for the win.
All teams tried to give their best in every match to achieve good results even if they did not win.
One of the interesting moments at
the event was the mindset of a third of the Petro Dollar Country team who came
only for 'trial and error'. In an interview with the Brunei Darussalam
Basketball coach, Lim Kok Shien said that the team's preparation for the 3x3
Basketball competition was done with very limited time. \
They focused on physical preparation such as fitness and stretching, he realized that their competitors have a greater physical advantage
Lim Kok Shien also explained that while his team did not set any specific targets in terms of placement or medals, they were more concerned with how the players could develop through the experience of competing in the competition. Nonetheless, he hopes that his team can perform well in the competition.
"We are more concerned about how our players can develop. When they participate in this kind of competition, it will open their eyes, so they know the level of play from other countries. Yes, even if the results are not satisfactory. And hopefully, we can take back and improve the level of basketball in Brunei Darussalam," he added.
Thus, the 3x3 Basketball event that day not only featured exciting and competitive matches, but also provided an insight into the fighting spirit and sportsmanship of the athletes and coaches involved.
It is hoped that this event can also be an event to strengthen relations between ASEAN countries through sports and increase the popularity and development of 3x3 Basketball in Indonesia.[]
