3x3 Basketball's Decisive Match was Fierce, Philippines and Indonesia Managed to Take Gold

SURABAYA - The decisive match of 3x3 basketball ASEAN University Games (AUG) XXI 2024 took place at GOR Unair Campus C on Friday, June 28, 2024. The match brought together tough teams in each category.
The men's category pits Malaysia vs Laos, Laos vs Indonesia, and Indonesia vs Philippines. While the women's numbers, Singapore faced Laos, Indonesia with Malaysia, Malaysia with Laos, and Indonesia with Singapore.
The decisive match went fiercely, the action chasing each other's points was inevitable. As in the women's number, for example, the match between Indonesia and Singapore was very competitive, exchanging attacks and chasing points from the first minute to the end.
The match went smoothly to produce a list of champions in each number. In the men's category, gold was won by the Philippines team who dominated in each game. Silver was won by the Malaysian team, and bronze was won by the Indonesian host team.

While in the women's category, the gold medal was snatched by Indonesia, silver won by Singapore, and bronze won by the Malaysian squad. After presenting the gold medal for his country, Gio Santiago, a Filipino basketball athlete, commented on the match.
According to him, the AUG XXI 2024 basketball match was very challenging for him and his team. Because, he met with the strongest teams from various countries. The medal achievement, he continued, could not be separated from the preparation and teamwork from the beginning until the game ended.
"We work together and we are serious about this tournament. Communication challenges during matches are normal and we overcame them, that's why we won in this tournament," she said after the awarding.

Indonesian athlete, Aimee Tampu said the same thing. Behind their struggle to present a medal for Indonesia in basketball sports is quite challenging, in addition to strategies and tactics that are tested, mental and teamwork are also very important.
"Our motivation is not to achieve our own goals, but more than that. The matches we play determine whether our country's flag will be raised or not, whether it will be mentioned or not. That's what makes me and my friends continue to fight and give our best for the Indonesian contingent," he said.[]
